Kickback 1 No Contests

i was dynamically thinking out the process in my mind and typing why i said there would be bias at the end realizing then and there the flaw in my line of thinking sorry for the confusion

cheating should be strictly prohibited 100% fine for the cheater .And if there is a tie it should be distributed 50/50

I meant the fan that voted would be the winner in app not the fighter sorry for the confusion.

The pool is meant to be distributed, so distribute them. The most simple and fair solution is to consider the weight 50/50 for each fighter and then spit the pool for that fight based on the amount of tokens played by each player. If someone didn’t play any tokens for that fight, they don’t get any reward. Burning such a small % doesn’t have enough impact on the total supply.

I voted for both of the guys who were probably going to with these fights. Though I would love it, I don’t see how you can just give those that were probably going to win the prize pool. Splitting the pool makes some sense but doesn’t add to ‘up only gaming’ excitement, and let’s be honest we know who was going to likely win those bouts.

My thought would be to take any pools that should have been distributed due to NCs and roll them to the very next event. If you know how to pick you can do it again, and this builds even more excitement for the next event.

Reward everyone based upon their vote.

An important part of Up Only Gaming is aligning incentives of fans and fighters. Should fans win $KARATE from Up Only Gaming prize pools if the fighters in the bout do not?

Which fighter in a No Contest should be the winner & receive the corresponding $KARATE allocation from the prize pool? If it can’t be programmed in advance, then each No Contest will create friction.

One fan suggests forcing judges to release scores in a No Contest, but since judges are selected by the athletic commission where the fight is held and operate based on that commission’s rulebook, there is no guarantee they will always comply. Even if they do, the scoring will be incomplete at best, and arbitrary at worst. If sentiment polling by fans is needed to pick a winner, then $KARATE allocations cannot be programatic.

In the No Contest situation, what happens to the 10% of the prize pool that is reserved for the winning fighter?

From standpoint of optimizing incentives for the fighters in these No Contest situations, here is a proposal:

yep i think this is a great medium term solution, but it probably requires extra smart contract work than the roadmap would allow.

no contests are very rare, so we should probably make any change as simple as possible.

i’m going to drop a poll later to gather more feedback from the community!
