We propose a transition from 6oz gloves to 4oz gloves.
Here’s why we believe this change is essential:
Aligning with Professional Standards: Currently, all major professional combat sports leagues use 4oz gloves. By adopting these gloves in the professional league of Karate Combat, we align ourselves with the standards of the professional combat sports world, elevating our status in the global sports community.
Increased Action and Entertainment: 4oz gloves are synonymous with high-intensity, action-packed bouts. They encourage fighters to engage more frequently and with greater ferocity, leading to a more thrilling and entertaining viewing experience for our fans.
A Safer Transition for Amateurs: We will be moving the 6 oz gloves to the amateur league, by doing so we prioritize the safety and development of our budding fighters, creating a more accessible entry point for aspiring Karate Combat athletes. This not only broadens our talent pool but also ensures our fighters are better prepared for the transition to the professional league.
Opportunity for Fighter Expression: 4oz gloves allow for a broader range of striking techniques and combinations. This means our athletes can showcase their skills, express themselves, and truly make their mark in the Karate Combat PIT.
Trialed ad Tested: We trialed 4oz gloves at KC41 in the Dominican Republic. Coincidentally or not, it was Karate Combat’s most exciting night of fights since the league went live from live-to-tape in 2022. Fighter feedback was very positive [zero complaints].
